Snatcher, for the SEGA CD, is a "cyberpunk adventure." It more closely resembles an cinematic RPG, though. There are RPG qualities, such as a strong story, much character interaction, and a lot of choice here. Its combat is more or less unique, and simple to learn. The final battles, though, are virtually impossible if you don't have a controller with turbo fire or autofire.

The game is set in the year 2047, in Neo Kobe City, Japan. On June 6, 1996 (note the triple sixes...heh heh heh), Lucifer Alpha, a deadly biological weapon, is unleashed by an explosion at the Chernoton research facility near Moscow. It wipes out most of the population of eastern Europe. Fifty years later, the ultimate biohazard appears...the bioroid SNATCHERS.

To combat this threat to the world, the JUNKER (Japanese Undercover Neuro-Kinetic Elimination Ranger) task force is set up. They operate in Neo Kobe, searching, detecting, and killing SNATCHERS. JUNKERs are given a personal navigator robot, a turbocycle (a flying car), and a blaster. Not the puny rayguns, but nice ceramic blasters.

JUNKER headquarters's main entry.
Mika is at her desk.

You are Gillian Seed. You and your wife, Jamie, were discovered 3 years ago in the Siberian Neutral Zone. You both have complete amnesia. You have spent several years training with the Japanese military, and have separated with your wife due to differences. You've joined the JUNKERs because the only thing you remember is "SNATCHER" and you want to try and recover your memories. Jamie is working at Kobe Pharmaceuticals.

The game begins on your first day at work as a JUNKER and continues from there. You have to play the detective and solve all sorts of problems. There's much excitement throughout the game. You go all sorts of places, like Plato's Cavern, a sort of black market; Outer Heaven, a seedy nightclub; some slums; Jean Jack Gibson, a fellow JUNKER,'s home; and more!

Metal Gear Mark II,

There is nothing about this game that isn't astounding. The setting, the characters, the voice-acting, the graphics (still-frame anime, which I adore), the battles, EVERYTHING's great! It's just too short...

There are all sorts of fun things to do...use JORDAN (an acronym that I forget), the JUNKER computer system; call people on the videophone; explore; and just have fun. The setting's awesome!

This game merits having a SEGA CD. Buy it!!!
