PlayStation RPGs
This was the first PSX RPG. The game was a sickeningly bad formulaic RPG. It's utterly predictable. The story is weak and the graphics are reproduceable in 16 bit. Combat happens constantly and is very boring. The puzzles are tiring, not entertaining. This is not worth owning.

Wild Arms
This was an actual good RPG for the PSX. The story was entertaining and the game was indeed fun. The pick-your-own-spells magic and upgradeable ARMS were really a treat. Well worth picking up.

Final Fantasy VII
This game was released with much hype. It utterly failed to live up to it. The full-motion video used throughout was the primary draw of this blockbuster PSX RPG. The game itself was an atrocity. The characters, plot, overworld graphics, and materia system were wretched. Squaresoft abused its good name in making this game.
My rating:Not ratable
Final Fantasy Tactics
It is a point of contention whether or not this is an RPG. It is a Squaresoft game, though, and has enough RPG elements to count as such. This is a war game with a lot of elements from the Final Fantasy "series", and it is a masterpiece. The battle system and story are both masterpieces. This is one of the best games to come out for the PlayStation to date.
