Lunar the Silver Star
This was probably the best RPG to come out for the SEGA CD. It had much
that was not typical of other RPGs--especially its integration of
still-frame anime sequences, a la Ninja Gaiden and voice.
Story
Lunar had, in the author's opinion, a very well-done story, though not the
best of any role-playing game. It was exceedingly good in the subtle
way that it drew the character in (as opposed to some games that just thrust
the characters into a situation). The author is a fan of the main villain
of the game, Ghaleon, who was, in his opinion, the greatest villain in any
video game ever. The plot twists are also original and great fun.
Rating: 9.
Gameplay
Lunar had turn-based gameplay, but there was a bit more of a strategic
twist to it. The characters actually had the ability to "flee" during
a battle and they could run individually of the group. The system allowed
for a bit more individuality.

Graphics
The graphics in this game were a mixed bag. The anime sequences were good
enough to be appreciated, but the characters had this sort of dwarfish look
that was, on the whole, detracting from the game.
Rating: 6.
Fun Factor
Lunar was a greatly fun game. It had some of the most entertaining cinema
scenes in RPG history. One has a good time playing it and that is probably
one of the most important things about playing a game.
